Richard, our "most interesting man"

Living on the field here in Haiti, we get the remarkable opportunity to meet many people, from many places and walks of life, that come down for a short time to see the life here.  Most recently, we've had the pleasure of hosting "The most interesting man in the world", Richard.

Richard is from the Okoboji, IA area and is a retired shop teacher of 34 years. He uses his retirement to do good and makes his way around the world to help mission organizations. In the month he spent here, his team made nearly 80 projects - from desks, to bookshelves, to chalkboards, to school benches.

Over the course of the month, he would take more  breaks, just watching the guys work, utilizing what he had taught them. “To work myself out of a job would be a goal, with young men vocationally trained to make a living,” Richard said.
