A new school year is approaching

School development

Preparation for the new Christian Academy is coming along great. We have a lot of work to do, but we are excited. We almost have a full staff, and Cassie and Kristen (our two new teachers are sisters) are enjoying preparing for the school year. As of today, we have about 65 students signed up, and our pre-school, kindergarten, and first grades are full! Read on to see what else is new.

Have you sponsored a student?

Thank you to those who renewed or turned in child sponsorship forms. We continue to receive them in the mail and are feeling very blessed this year.

If you haven't turned in a sponsorship form, it's not too late! Sponsoring an elementary student is only $100 per year and $200 for a high school or vo tech student.

Consider helping youth in Haiti! Sponsor a child online or set up monthly payments by emailing info@mission-haiti.org

Updates from the Mission Haiti Team.

Please send prayers for our missionaries.

Please continue to pray for our full-time missionaries Paul and Bethany Perissien and our two new teachers Cassie and Kristen Neufeld. They are working hard to prepare for our upcoming school year. Also, please pray for our entire Haitian staff as they work hard on a daily basis to share the love of Jesus through Mission Haiti.

Construction projects are going great.

Block plant construction is complete. Now we have to move the block equipment over to the new site, and begin training a crew on block construction. Jabouin School construction is coming along nicely and should be done before the school year.

We've already started school distribution.

A group from America traveled to Haiti August 7–14 to assist with school distribution. The team consisted of Tim Mulder, Gretchen Shafer, Chelsey Wolf, Sara Winterfeld, and Tate Winterfeld. Paul and Bethany did a great job of having things organized this year. We did distribution at the new school, which worked well.

Our greatest need right now is shoes and backpacks.

The main challenge during the distribution trip was, on day 2, we started to run out of shoes. Amanda and Tim hope to have all shoes and backpacks to Haiti by mid-September.

As our final shipment of shoes prepares to make its way to Haiti, we're already thinking ahead. Consider donating new tennis shoes for future use.
