SCHOOL SIZE
Our school currently reaches 5th grade. Each year going forward we will add another grade. This means that for the 2021-2022 school year we will reach 6th grade.
CURRICULUM
Our school’s foundation are the curriculum standards set by the government of Haiti. However, we seek to surpass those standards and integrate American and Canadian standards into our curriculum. This means the quality of education our students receive surpasses national standards.
SCHOOL STAFF
We have Haitian and North American teachers working at our academy. We also have local Haitian staff members that serve in our cafeteria, as supervision during recess, and as academic support (tutors, classroom aids).
RESOURCES
Our classrooms are equipped with whiteboards, projectors and iPads. We also have a new school library with a collection of English and French books. Our school also has a large playground and basketball court that we use for recreational activities and recess times.
CLASSROOM STRUCTURE
Our school is unique from other international schools. We have one North American teacher and one Haitian teacher in each classroom that team-teach throughout the week. The curriculum is taught in English for half of the week by our North American teachers, and in French for the other half of the week by our Haitian teachers. Our French and English teachers use separate curriculum resources and books due to the bilingual nature of our classrooms.
