Welcome to Mission
Haiti. Our vision is to always be a ministry that glorifies Jesus Christ in all we do. We also want to provide people with the opportunity to fulfill the command God has given us
in Matthew 10:7,
“As you go, preach this message, the kingdom of heaven
is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who
have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have
received, freely give."
We desire to reach the people of
Haiti one village at a time for the glory of the Lord. We encourage you to learn more about us. We thank you for the time you spend with us and pray you are blessed through this site. We look forward to hearing from you.
UPDATE : YWAM came to Ti-Rivier with a group of 10 amazing people from Seattle, Washington. Megan, from YWAM Minnesota got us all on the right foot each morning by leading us in devotions and a time for personal reflection. After that we hit the ground running. The youth kids all came with a Bible lesson to share and many had skits and craft projects to go along with them. We also had library day where we invited the kids in the village to come and look at books with us. ( a real treat) We found out the hard way that there were jelly fish in the water. Somebody suggested peeing on yourself would take the burning away. We opted to follow the natives suggestion of caking wet sand from the ocean on the stings. (Nathan was kind enough to go back in the water to get it for us) The sand worked great! Having the American youth group gather together with our Haitian youth group was the highlight of our day. The last night in the village, the Seattle group washed the Haitians feet and prayed a blessing over each of them individually. It was a week of being stretched by going way out of your comfort zone but hats off to everyone for a job well done.
Pastor Jeremiah and Rachel Johnson from Assembly of God in Sioux Falls, South Dakota led a team for a week of Bible studies. This is an area that is in much demand. One day while we were there, one of the youth kids told us he had been witnessing to the young men near his house and they wanted to know more about being a Christian. While doing house visits, we came across this group of young men sitting under a mango tree. They explained to us that they really wanted to go to church so they could learn about God but the Pastor would not let them in the church because they did not have nice enough clothes. Long story short, many raised their hands to receive Jesus that day. We invited them to join our youth group and we told them the team coming in August will worship and teach the Word to them under their mango tree.
Good News Reformed Church of Sioux Falls had 3 of their staff in Ti-Rivier to head up the census project. The weather was extremely warm but they hiked the mountains gathering data. The youth were thrilled to be able to spend time with Peter, Cory and Eli. Emanuel, the boy who fills our drums with water so team members can take baths, showed up at 4:45 am so he could finish in time to climb the mountains with them. This data will be used to better tract individuals seeking medical attention from us, being sure every child has the opportunity to go to school and for our prayer teams to pray specifically for each family.
