In January, Mission-Haiti was able to host 12 couples in a marriage ceremony. It is customary in Haiti for many couples, especially the older ones, to live as husband and wife for many years before actually getting married. The main reason for this is due to the lack of funds to pay for a wedding ceremony and reception. Several years ago, Mission-Haiti offered its first “group wedding” and over the years, have worked to make this event as stress free as possible for newlyweds by taking care of the decorations, paperwork, wedding dresses, new suits for the grooms, shoes, and a beautiful reception. We’re grateful for our partner, Paws Pets Resort from Sioux Falls, for sponsoring this year’s wedding and helping us to make it a day that they and their families will remember for the rest of their lives. Please join us in praying for God’s blessing in their marriage.
