There are many people who sponsor a student through Mission-Haiti and we are so grateful for the incredible impact that sponsorship brings. One of the things we are proud of is the many Haitian hands that receive reliable income because of your commitment to your student. Some of these folks include our hardworking translating crew. Each year when we are preparing to send the annual sponsorship letter we spend months traveling to each of the schools to try our best to get a handwritten letter from each student for their sponsor. All of those letters then need to be translated from Haitian Creole to English before they are delivered to you. So much time, energy, heart and soul goes into getting a yearly letter in your hands. Thank you translators for the incredible role you play!

Why do we spend countless hours to work on this letter? Because we want this program to be so much more than just a check written once a year. This letter helps us bridge the cultural gap, learning about each others lives and receiving a glimpse into a world vastly different than your own. We want this to be an impactful relationship even when something like language and distance stand in the way.
